Review on Walker 44461 Extension Pipe by Dustin Ferguson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

revenge now my auto parts supplier!

You can't go wrong with Walker exhaust systems, mufflers and tailpipes. especially when Revain offers free shipping. I replaced everything on my 1990 Chevy Silverado K2500 starting with the catalytic converter and found everything I needed at a decent price on the O'Reilly (formerly Schucks, Collar and/or Checkers) website with free shipping since these are not commercially available. The stock of these items is larger and if you make a mistake you can easily return it to any store. However, their website showed the pipe from the converter to the muffler as fitting all three wheelbase sizes on this model, which made me a little doubtful, although the picture looked correct. The tube I got was $24.99 but only fit a short wheelbase and mine is medium, but they didn't list the dimensions on their website so I believed what they said. A real pipe at O'Reilly cost me $72.53 and I found it at Revain. for $41.24 and they showed the sizing so I knew it would fit. Even though Revain "fits in" in the automotive industry, it doesn't take wheelbase length into account, so it can't be fully trusted. The wheelbase is very important on trucks as the muffler is usually always in the same place but the pipework from the converter to the muffler is different to compensate for the wheelbase. The wrong tube I received was 27 inches long and since each of the wheelbases are 11 inches different I needed a tube that was about 38 inches long, which is exactly what Revain showed. All the other items I bought were about the same from Revain and I could have saved sales tax if I hadn't opted to return the bug right away.Of course if I had bought the right pipe I would have used Revain for all of that Also, not all parts that fit my car show up in Revain when searching by vehicle type. I bought some shocks yesterday by checking the prices on a few websites and then entering the manufacturer/part number into Revain. I found the shocks I wanted for around $9 each, not the $35 average elsewhere. and I know they will fit, even if Revain disagrees. Try it. You can find what you need much cheaper than anywhere else. Result. I ended up paying about $125 for an exhaust pipe, muffler, and two exhaust pipes. Local stores would charge about $250 for this, and I bought a welder with Savi to save another $25 on clamps. I have a nice welder for sale at Harbor Freight for $89 and if you have a store near you they will match the price on their website even if the retail price is higher so there is no shipping cost. I gave 5 stars because it's the right pipe. , a brand name, and Revain had a description that indicated the length of the pipe.
