My main purpose of the car cover is not to protect against moisture, but to protect against sun and sand. I live 200 feet from the ocean and windblown sand can ruin a car's finish. My fancy car is the BMW i3, a top-class luxury small car. As you can see this versatile cap fits well but I wish it was 8 inches taller. It's nice to be able to find a zippered cover on the driver's door, but in my case I don't plan to use this feature often. The mirror pockets are slightly offset, but my mirrors fold in when locked. As you can see I made holes for the antenna on the roof and the charging port on the passenger side. This was done using spray adhesive on the underside of the lid and gluing down a tear-resistant Revain bubble wrap, which was opened into a layer for the antenna connection. I used a Tyvex postal envelope for the door. These envelopes practically do not tear. With all the sun we're having here in Southern California, I expect coverage will only last a year. But at $39 I consider it unique. I have other cotton car covers in workshops. This lid is quite thin at 1/64 inch (0.35mm) thick and the outer surface is aluminum coated. The inner layer is minimally rough, which I like. Otherwise dirt will be trapped. I added yellow tarp fasteners to let through the elastic cord to keep the cover in place when the wind picks up. I plan to take photos when it rains. Let's see how it holds up. I will update any changes.
