I am very impressed with these Mountain Hardwear Mittens. They come in standard packaging hanging on a shelf in a retail store at home. You look very warm to me. They have Gore-Tex for weather and water resistance, and the insulation is Primaloft Gold, a premium synthetic ultra-warm down alternative that stays warm even when wet (which shouldn't be an issue due to Gore-Tex). They are lined with fleece. The back of the gloves is made of nylon, while the inside is made of a textured, super grippy material. This would make sense if warmth and weather resistance were a priority and there were no concerns about durability as some of the more expensive alternatives have sturdy goatskin to make them more durable. I think it's a great balance of quality, warmth and price. The price is high but not quite for what they are.
