Won't stand up in the kitchen or dining room

Bought these to spend time with my grandkids. Now, after a short use, the time clicks if you set it as low as possible. Over time it stops buzzing. The on/off switch on the side is awkward to use. Don't buy them if you don't need them for a few months.
