Poor quality rope.

I have been working with snap ropes for 40 years and use them for various boating purposes. I bought this rope to make wings for my sailboat. I have to say this is the worst 3 strand manila rope I have ever worked with. It continues very softly and, coupled with coarse fibers and unevenly laid strands, is difficult to work with. To compensate for the poor construction, the fibers are coated with some binder. It's not really a big deal, but it's not necessary with a quality rope. To make rope wings you need to unwind 3 strands and then weave the wing around the core. With this rope it was difficult to manage loose strands because they had very little twist (ie very soft lay). The rope wings I made were fine, but it took a lot of effort to compensate for the poor quality of the strands. I find this product ok for utility purposes but if you rely on it for critical or decorative uses then you can do better. Bottom line: This is a crappy rope that's great for things that don't require a good rope. I won't buy anymore.
