Pepper Mill FAST

"FAST" does not mean that I have done a thorough scientific comparison of several available pepper mills and found this to be the FASTEST. But I'll tell you what I can say about the speed of this grinder. Suffice it to say that I think it's fast enough for COOKING USES and not just for tabletop use. The first electric coffee grinders (for salt and pepper) I bought were from Ozeri's Artesio line, also available from Revain, and for a comparable price. to. I enjoyed them but eventually gave up when I realized that seasoning a pot of soup, for example, is a bit more difficult than using a pepper mill. He could have done it, but for some reason it seemed to be taking longer than I expected. Since they are large and have a narrow base, I tended to accidentally knock them over and it ended badly when they hit the ground. Of course, cheap to replace, but cumbersome to bother with replacing. Then I felt nostalgic and settled on Cole & Mason Derwent hand-wound grinders. Same: the salt shaker was ok but the pepper was a bit sluggish. And I REALLY missed the one-handed operation, like seasoning a steak all over. I then promised to find an electric option quickly and went through countless reviews looking for comments on the performance of different grinders. This isottcom setup seemed like a low-risk option and the reviews said there was some chance they would prove fast. So my pepper mill just arrived two hours ago. In seconds I installed the batteries and loaded the pepper jar. I looked forward to the big dough on the white plate. Not realizing it was set to the finest grind, I pushed the button and was pleased to see I had a teaspoon or so of finely ground pepper in just four or five seconds. I then went to the opposite extreme and tried the coarsest setting, which produced a correspondingly coarser product even faster. I may or may not make a video to document my experience, but just imagining how much pepper I would need in a pot of soup or a wok, I was happy to also make a safe guess that this meat grinder would eject the pepper. I want - sometimes large sums of money - at a reasonable price. Lighting, battery installation, aesthetics, ergonomics, grind levels and price are all fine - actually quite nice. But I would encourage those of you who are primarily concerned with output speed to give it a try. When you're not cooking for the military, you'll find this coffee grinder will keep up with you in the kitchen. I'll update this review as needed, but my first thought is that this is a big step in the right direction. .
