I am one of the lucky ones who still has the two original keys that came with the car (although they are old and partly broken). If you have both original keys, follow another user's instructions below. First you need to cut the key at a locksmith shop or hardware store. It cost me $4. Now I will buy my wife another spare key and then we will keep the two original keys in a drawer at home so that we can always reprogram them in the future if we lose one of these new ones (or take them sailing). ). Insert the original key #1. Turn on the key (do not start the engine). Wait 10 seconds and then remove the key. Insert the original key #2. Turn the key back in (do not start the engine). Wait 10 seconds for the security light to turn on. lights up on the dashboard. Take out the key. Insert the new key #1 within 10 seconds. Turn the key back on (do not start the engine). The security light should turn off after a few seconds. The new key must be programmed. Repeat the whole process for all other new keys.
