Luckily, this device allowed me to recover files from my MacBook Air that wasn't working due to a non-SSD hardware issue. After removing the drive from my MacBook Air, I was able to insert the SSD into this unit and connect it to the drive cloner/external dock. From there it connected to my other Mac like any other external drive and I was able to copy all my files, which worked better than I expected. In general I am satisfied, there are no problems, everything is carried out exactly as specified.
