beautiful shells but smaller than the description

The shells were beautiful, but one was cracked. However, the main problem was that the bowls were smaller than the description said. We got these for my son's hermit crabs and the opening had to be 1" to 1 1/4" as per the description. the largest opening was only 3/4 inch. A very disappointed boy, they were a gift for his birthday and he was so excited to get new shells but said they were too small. Beautiful and natural, but too small!
