I bought this jack primarily for occasional driveway maintenance - changing tires, winter tire changes, working on brakes etc. My driveway is gravel which is not very practical for jack use and since mine The car has low ground clearance, I hardly ever use jacks. I'm really tired of using a manual scissor jack. especially when I drive two or more car turns. After seeing a 1.5 ton electric scissor jack at a local auto parts store, I started researching. Reviews of electrical jacks are mixed, as are the features and included accessories. My main concern was reliability and durability. This product has many positive reviews and it also includes a battery adapter which was important to me. I didn't want to risk blowing the fuses in my car's 12 volt outlet. I also like that it comes with a pair of work gloves. Yes, this accessory could be purchased separately, but it's nice that it's included. The case is very beautiful. It has room for everything (including three spare fuses). There is extra space if you want to put some small accessories in there. The case is sturdy and has metal latches to keep it closed. There is a small and not very reflective triangle on the side. A nice touch is the velcro so it doesn't slide around in your trunk. I removed the cover from the gears to see what it looks like inside. All gears except one are metal. I'm assuming they use a plastic gear so this is the part that fails when the jack is overloaded. It is better for the gear to break than for the structural part of the jack to fail. I removed the grease and re-greased with a good quality lithium grease. I always assume that the lube that comes with it is pretty cheap, but that's just my opinion. Using this scissor jack is very simple. You plug it in (or put it in your car's battery) and press the up or down button. I'm not going to go into the basics of scissor jack usage and safety here to start the review. My little tips for this connector are: 1. I recommend using a battery adapter whenever possible. So you don't load the 12V socket in the car. 2. Pay attention to the cable! It is east when the cable gets caught under or in the hoist as it is raised or lowered. 3. If possible, start the engine. Your battery will give out around 12.6V when the machine is off, but around 14.5V when it's running. This is better for any power-hungry accessory.
