Received this belt after reading some reviews that said it did not fit the advertised 10mm. I ordered it knowing it because I had delayed this repair for about a week and I had to vacuum! This is of course not 10mm as advertised by the seller and printed on the plastic packaging. I'd say it's more like 8 or 9mm. (I have added photos to this review). However, it still works. After installation I was able to vacuum several rooms. Considering the original strap on my DC17 lasted about 10 years before breaking (due to the fact that it tightened the top), I'm assuming Dyson engineers chose the strap size and composition for a reason to have. Sure, this sub-10mm thick belt works for now, but how long will it last? I just don't understand false advertising. Just call it a DC17 belt replacement and don't get bogged down with incorrect 10mm belt size information if it isn't.
