The front carrier pad was perfect for my aging mule's back

I have had the front carrier pad for over two years now and love it. Since I use it as a bridge liner, the front padded areas fit snugly into the notches behind the shoulders of my 27-year-old mule. This caused the panel to protrude from under the rounded skirt of my distance western saddle. The pad has a pleated area at the back to allow for trimming which is easily done with scissors and the pad matches the back of the skirt perfectly. I recently traveled through the mountains for four days and my saddle hasn't slipped and my mule's back hasn't hurt. As recommended, I put a gel pad on my thin saddle pad and everything stays in place even after five hours of driving. I have a custom saddle for my mule, but after 15 years I took it and the mule back to the saddle manufacturer to make sure the new gel pad would work for my mule's aging back. The saddler liked the gel pad very much and wanted to know more about it. I've kept the fairing in my trailer on round PVC tubing all year round so I'm not sure if the design has changed since I bought mine in early 2017 but there weren't any cracks or breaks like others have have mentioned. I've considered buying another pad in case something happens to this one, but I'm concerned the quality may not be as good as it is now. I will keep looking at the reviews.
