I used it for Mother's Day dinner with my family and we made cheese fondue and then savory chocolate fondue. It was fun to melt both cheeses (Gruyère and Cheddar)! They melted - I shredded the cheese to make it fine and then added it to melt it - but it never melted. If I turned the heat up higher, the cheese would burn at the bottom. So we ended up eating cheese balls that weren't runny at all no matter what we did. I ended up adding cream but didn't go, broth too, no. It kind of stayed semi-soft even though it melted completely. The chocolate fondue was even worse! I made it in a separate pot following the recipe and added cream and it melted nicely in the pot but when I then put it in the fondue pot it didn't stay melted and when I put it on high heat it burned down. While it's cute, it's definitely not what I thought it would be.
