Review on πŸ”ͺ Kitchen Tool for Splitting English Muffins, Biscuits, and Crumpets - Enhancing Your Cooking Experience by Chuck Wooten

I sharpened my teeth.

As other reviewers have noted, the teeth are not sharp, they are cut at an angle. This makes pushing a fresh bun more difficult as the bun tends to roll in front of the prongs. I knew this was happening and planned to sharpen the tines. I didn't want the teeth to be very sharp as they ask to be poked. Rather tapering to a slightly blunt rounded end, then the brushed metal becomes smooth. This made it much easier to insert into the muffin. I divide a dozen or more at a time and then freeze them for safekeeping. If I was just sharing a cupcake or two, it might be a little better than a fork, although not by much. Sharpening is not quick and easy. Damage. Removing them would make grinding the tip much easier. I used a small belt sander and then a buffing wheel for buffing. They have to be made that way.
