I took it out of the box, installed a 4" stylus, checked my mic on my calibration block, found it had a maximum travel of 4.0270, reset the caliper to 4.0000 . Bores 4,001, round without cone, bore free of test marks. Very happy with the purchase, ran the engine again as I type this. $40 well spent. To my sisters and engine building, take one, you won't be disappointed. You only need a micrometer/precision caliper and a block gauge to set it up properly. Find a Zeiko 8" caliper and maybe a well checked Block 123 if you don't have one already, or something similar.
