Works perfect! in measurement dimensions

I took it out of the box, installed a 4" stylus, checked my mic on my calibration block, found it had a maximum travel of 4.0270, reset the caliper to 4.0000 . Bores 4,001, round without cone, bore free of test marks. Very happy with the purchase, ran the engine again as I type this. $40 well spent. To my sisters and engine building, take one, you won't be disappointed. You only need a micrometer/precision caliper and a block gauge to set it up properly. Find a Zeiko 8" caliper and maybe a well

The sensor is different from the photo

The first thing you will notice when you receive this is that the sensor is different from the photo. The one supplied does not have the essential black protection around it as shown in the picture. The included sensor is about what you would expect for the money. The 2 moving black pointers just snap onto the rim and are practically useless if you want to use them when measuring. The dial itself moves normally for adjustment - not the smoothest of mechanisms, but it works. My biggest gripe…

If you want to do the job, do it right!

I was working on an overheating issue on a John Deere 40 utility tractor. After investigating the problem, I realized I needed to take the engine apart and do some repairs. The problem was a head gasket and a cracked lip on one of the pistons. I not only removed the head but also the pistons and then cleaned all the parts to make sure I was doing everything right. I bought a honing tool and honed the cylinder walls to remove deposits in the cylinder. After watching a few YouTube videos I…
