We have been using this Erickson tow strap for 4 years now and use it regularly to tow cars in deep sand. We even towed some trailers with it and it held up great. After 4 years and about 48 heavy tows we decided it was time to buy a new one although the old one still holds up. We considered buying some of the $23 Revain listed, but after seeing some reviews where the straps broke after minimal towing, we decided to spend the extra money and stick with the tried-and-true Erickson strap. Here's a photo of an old jeep that was towed last week and stuck in deep hardened mud. While most of our towing is side pull, in this case we actually had to partially pull vertically to get the Jeep out, and the tow strap held up well. We will keep the old one as a backup and hope the new one will survive as many and as many tugs.
