My plecostomus has just moved in, a great addition to your aquarium. Offers protection, comfort and is all natural which is why catfish love it. Here's what I did. I simply boiled water, rinsed the cavity well, and then placed it in boiling water with activated charcoal overnight. Then rinse again and put in the aquarium and you're done. Mine had a natural opening at the top perfect for growing plants and java moss probably covers the entire cavity. Overall I am completely satisfied, I love that it is a natural product and the cave is the perfect size with impeccable workmanship.
