Review on Gigabit Wireless AP RB951G-2HND πŸ’» Mikrotik with 1000mW Power and 5 Ports by Adithep Kampanat ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A reliable product, quality is acceptable.

Configuration: RB951G-2HnD v 6.7/6.9/WeTelecom wm-200 sky-link evdo Works 24/7. Provides remote access to the machine. The router is also positioned as a 3g router. This is the main "jamb". Which confirms the above review, and you can also read about the problem on ixbt. - Flaws: Yota modem not working Comment: Killed two days to set up. To make the modem work, you need to turn off the wifi. But hangs after 5 minutes. The sludge is complete. - First you need to ate the firmware to version 6 in order to be able to work with the "modern" list of modems. On ixbt, the author, who encountered a similar problem, claims that this is not due to a lack of power, by default mikrotik has 4.9, and not 5 volts, but that when Wi-Fi is turned on, the information bus is "littered" - very similar !. But he observed this glitch only when the modem was connected via a usb extension cable, and he solved this problem with an active (with additional power) usb hub, although it is possible that the "garbage" is somehow related to a lack of power when applying the Wi-Fi settings: ) According to my observation, the "freeze" of the modem is completely dependent on wi-fi, although they are sitting on different interrupts. It can be seen that when applying the settings to Wi-Fi, something happens or is transmitted to the modem (the blue signal lights up, after which the modem does not respond). Moreover, if you use a nokia 808 phone as a modem, then there are no problems. Solution: Reduce to a minimum (example 1) the power of wi-fi (for firmware 6.7, for 6.9 it is not necessary). - a problem when changing wi-fi settings, the modem hangs, a reset is required, and the entire router and not usb. You can also try an active usb hub, another modem model, or buy another router :)

Pros
  • There is everything you need, a nice console, the ability to write scripts :)
Cons
  • The initial setup is not in 2 clicks, not particularly suitable as a 3g router.
