attention to detail!

Pfister Sanitary Prices are top and very well made. I first bought a Delta set from a big store nearby and returned it because I just didn't like the look and style. I bought this valve because I liked the look of the handle set. The handle set was very well made and I was even more impressed with the valve. What makes it so good are the details that Price-Pfister really pays attention to. First, the flap is flat on the back and has pre-drilled grommets so you can attach it to a piece of wood. Most valves are not flat and cannot be attached to anything. If you're not a professional plumber, this is a nice feature as you can mount the valve perpendicular to the wall. The delta kit I purchased was only held in place by tubing, which is fine once soldered, but makes it extremely difficult to get it exactly where you want it. Since there are no control marks installing the valve perpendicular to the wall. must be done by eye. which isn't easy when you only have stilettos. I was very careful with the Delta and it looked fine, but after installing the walls you could see it wasn't working. With this valve I was able to install it very easily and it fit perfectly. The second nice feature of this valve. You can either solder the copper directly to the pipe or use a FIP fitting if using PEX. Most other valves are one or the other, not both (Delta had a FIP which made installation difficult as I was using copper). Third, the valve comes with a plastic cap that you only use for scrubbing and prepping the walls and laying tiles. to protect it until you are ready to install the fairing. The cap also acts as a guide to keep the protector flush with the finished wall to allow the valve to be installed at the correct depth. At Delta, it was all conjecture. Slightly more expensive than other plumbing fixtures but worth it.
