Shelf Chapati/Roti for kitchen and dining room

After writing this review I realized that I have had this item less than a week now and since I received it I use it almost every day. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: Good size - square post covers full area of torch coils. Lightweight - Easy to lift so you can transfer the chapatis directly to the warming tray. Cons: Wires are thin and discolored. My refrigerated shelves have thicker wires. I've been using this chapati rack almost every day since I got it and the wires have started to brown slightly. I hope it doesn't rust. The product description says 'stainless steel' so I'm wondering why it changes color. The height of the legs is not high enough. It's only about half an inch tall, so it barely rises above the heating coils. In order for my chapatis to keep puffing up, the burner needs to be on high heat. The legs are too short, making them too close to the whorls, resulting in burnt chapatis with dark rub marks. Rack leg position not far enough from the edges of the rack. When I place it on our smaller burner spools, the stand's legs sit on the rim of the pan and the stand slides and becomes uneven. When I place the chapati stand on our large burner spools, the legs are directly over the outermost spool and any slight movement will move the stand out of position and wedge between the burner spools and become uneven again. If the rack's legs were further from the rack's rim, perhaps it would rest on the platter rather than the coils or the rim of the pan. This modern design works well for flat radiant stoves without burner coils. Price - not worth the $14.

Pros
  • Great Easy Tool
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
