One of the pins in the connector was loose and causing nothing but a headache, I had to cut the connector and add one so I can't even get it back.

The charger is only built into a fan, with radiating fins surrounding the circuit board and dissipating heat through the case, so some heat inside the case when charging is very normal, but it is durable.
