Goo Gone Total Failure

This product was purchased to clean 304 stainless steel cooking grates of carbon buildup. Sprayed and waited 10 minutes as directed. Nothing. I cleaned it with a stainless steel brush but the carbon deposits were not removed. I washed and dried the grids and then sprayed them again. This time I let Goo Gone run all night. In the morning I scraped the grates again with a stainless steel brush, but nothing, nada. Nagar was not removed.
