I've been using this mug for almost 4 months now. I brew about 8 cups of tea a week. In the last 3 weeks I have noticed that within a week the entire jug and countertop had a sticky residue. I thought I might have spilled my tea and didn't clean up my mess well. For my last brew, I cleaned the outside of the pitcher a few times to make sure I didn't spill anything. After 4 days, the pot again showed a sticky residue. Small kombucha balls on the outside. I understand that kombucha seeps through walls and makes a huge mess. Eventually my jug will be covered with ants that have come for the goo. In general, I really liked this porridge. Its small noticeable protrusion has an elastic band and the faucet works well. But if it keeps leaking and making a mess, it's not worth the money I spent on it. Very disappointed
