This garment is basically a plush fleece comforter/throw material sewn into the shape of a traditional "surf poncho" used for changing on the beach.The fleece feels nice on the skin, but it's not naturally water absorbent. That makes it a wrong choice of material to use around water, in my opinion. In addition, fleece tends to attract and trap dirt, yet it's not easy to wash, because of the large "one-size-fit-all" size and extra bulk of fleece, plus its slowness to dry.I now use this product mostly like a regular fleece comforter or a throw at home.For use outside, I ended up getting a different surf poncho made of a microfiber-type fabric (cotton might have been even better); it's less bulky and lighter (so easier to carry), as well as being water absorbent.Likes:- Feels plush, soft and warm on the skin when used at home as a comforter / throw.Dislikes:- Not naturally absorbent (Because it's fleece.)- Very bulky when not being worn (Takes up room to carry, store.)- The fabric itself feels warm on the skin, but it's not particularly warm to wear. (Because of the extra roomy design, warm air quickly escapes from the lower body. It's like wearing a cape.)- Fleece tends to attract and trap dirt when used out-of-doors.- Not simple to wash, and takes longer to dry after being washed / getting wetAs measured on a digital scale- Weight: 780g (1.72 lbs)I am giving it 3 stars.
