. As I only carry one bike I didn't want anything hanging off the back of the van and this rack is perfect for one bike. I haven't tried it, but to carry an extra bike inside you have to loosen the stem and rotate the handlebars 90 degrees, which isn't a big deal. A bolt keeps the holder from moving (on my 30lb bike). I can only see the bike in my rear view/security camera while I'm riding. I also purchased a 5/8" anti-wiggle threaded Swagman hitch pin and an 8.5" cable lock which is the perfect complement to this bike mount and is worth every penny. just some free space. I think you can fit 3 inch tires in the trunk tires.
