I agree. DO NOT BUY.
Based on other customer reviews, I stayed away from this device against my gut feeling. Lesson learned. I managed to find a way to check the IR sensor with the cellphone's camera. This remote control does not emit any light. The same test performed on every other remote control I have owned passed, except for this one. Damn. Amazon should have removed it from its list by now.
