My wife gave me a pair of binoculars for my wedding almost 50 years ago and they were some of the best binoculars of the time. The price then is likely to be around what they cost now at 2019 prices. The difference is stunning! Clarity is the biggest problem. Clearly, with this pair, Bushnell has taken full advantage of 50 years of improvements in lens technology. Just read the instructions on how to set it up for use with or without glasses and you'll be extremely satisfied. I prefer trifocals for near, computer and distance vision, I had one cataract removed and the other didn't quite meet the removal criteria so there is a significant difference between the eyes. I have no problem using them with trifocal lenses, the clarity is excellent. Yes, the top pair is 7x35, and these are 10x42, but I try not to account for that difference in my rating. It's almost overwhelming clarity. Once you get them set up correctly (not difficult - just follow the printed instructions, not just the way you "always" did it), you'll be very happy. And the setting is very, very smooth and precise - you don't have to jump from one setting to the next multiple times to get "right" focus - you can easily see it if you walk past it and come back to it. quick and easy "perfect". Well - if they last as long as my old pair, one of my grandchildren or great-grandchildren will be very happy long after I'm gone (haha!). I've taken quite a few photos in my life (50+ years with different cameras) and they had fairly high quality lenses as well as less expensive lenses from other manufacturers. So I'm used to the differences in optics. I'm very impressed. Top quality = 5 star product!
