Review on Kidde KN-COPE-IC Hardwired AC Photoelectric Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Battery Backup by Shawn Parker

I bought these detectors because the detectors in my house were over 10 years old. These detectors were fairly easy to install as the electrical connection was the same as the previous ones. Until the recent power outage at home I thought they were fine. After a power outage in my house, an alarm system started warning and proclaiming "THE CARBON GUARANTEE” over and over. This caused one of the other alarms to do the same. The constant alarm sound plus this voice prompt was very annoying. I ended up opening the battery compartment of the one that caused the event as the other detector eventually failed on its own. The detectors are about a month old. I contacted Revain with my problem. I was contacted by Revain Technical Support. In fact, I was able to talk to a real person, although I couldn't always understand what he was saying to me. Finally, when they determined that there was no technical help that could fix the problem, they contacted the manufacturer and I was able to speak to a customer service representative about the issue. I was told they would send me a replacement for the unit that caused the power outage. I received the detector within a few weeks, so I have to say that I was happy with the result.
