Out of the box they worked very well. You didn't exceed expectations. Bluetooth speakers available for my helmets. The sound quality is very flat. If you're expecting bass, they don't have any unless you press them right up to your ears. The buttons on the microphone work very well, which is nice. The flexible wire housing the mic never stays in place very well, although they're loud enough to run at 80+ mph, which is nice. And the battery life is surprisingly long. After about a week of use, I noticed that the right speaker started to lag behind the left, which was very annoying. Eventually the right speaker stopped working and I'm sending it back today.
