Over the years I have fed my 10 year old Border Collie a variety of good quality dog foods. Now, some of my favorite grain-free foods have been linked to canine heart disease, so I took another look at Purina foods. I read somewhere that Purina did more testing than most brands. I chose the Purina Pro Plan Sport 27/17 (Percent Protein/Fat) formula, which contains no corn, wheat, or soy. It has some barley and oats in it. My dog loves food; no fishy smell I hate; their feces are good and hard; Her coat and energy level are excellent. Only complaint: I wish they made the bag smaller! I'm older and smaller, have back pain and don't like carrying a 33# bag around the house. Also, the food can be stale by the time we've finished the big bag, which takes a few weeks.
