Excellent all purpose food

This food was recommended to me by my dog's kennel owner after my German Shepherd became ill on it. Based on her experience, she suggested switching to this Pro plan. The pieces are medium sized and I also feed them about half their previous meal and what comes out the other end is smaller too.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

My guide dog agrees!

I have been with my guide dog for more than 3 years and this is one of the most affordable and nutritious dog foods approved by handlers at the school where I trained my dog. She comes running every time I call her for breakfast and dinner. She sniffs the air and drools every time. This is ideal for a working dog and dogs that lead active lifestyles.

Pros
  • A Sea of Positive Emotions
Cons
  • Repair

The price increase is too high

After a long research I decided on this food for our family with 3 dogs. I switched her to a diet change and all went well. All 3 were very good! I loved it, at least until I went to reorder and discovered a $7 per pack price increase. I'm determined to take care of my buddies, but I have to work within a budget. Unfortunately, I have decided to switch to a different dog food and am in the process of switching again. A very disappointing experience.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

Great food for a lean active dog aged 1.5 year old Pitbull mix

I can't ask my dog what he thinks about taste and smell but he seems to love it! This was the only dog food I gave my dog that like other dog food brands keeps him from running from time to time. Her coat looks great and she looks happy, healthy and muscular. When summer rolls start and I do more strenuous hiking, I plan to upgrade to a 30/20 type so her body can be fully fueled for a full day of hiking. My vet and the many other vets my friends and family go to for a professional Purina plan.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes

  • Some cons

LOVE PURINA Chocolate Lab & German Shorthaired Pointer

Love this food. We have always put our chocolate lab on this feed and he is a healthy happy boy. We had a German Pointer on several other food brands specifically for easy digestion for his sensitive stomach and nothing seemed to help. (He has a fairly severe bacterial imbalance where he can't eat anything but dog food and maybe raspberries or carrots once a month if he has anything else he has diarrhea, vomits and becomes lethargic) C with this food he could actually eat, gain weight and have…

Smells like spoiled milk - not normal.

I usually buy this food from Petsmart. My dogs are very good at it. I signed up for delivery of this meal, when I got my first bag, it smelled unusually sour or spoiled. I only knew this because I've been buying this food for about a year now and it's never smelled like this. I hope these grocery bags are stored properly. I checked the expiry date and it was good. I don't know why it smells like spoiled milk! I'll try the subscription ONCE AGAIN, but if it smells bad again I'll cancel my…

I love this stuff-- High calorie, high quality dog food

I've been buying this stuff for my VERY active boxer for years. It has more calories than regular dog food and helps me maintain her weight, especially in the winter when it's cold outside and she burns more calories trying to keep warm. Her pet suggested I use a senior dog food, but the food just didn't have the calories she needed. In the winter, to keep their weight down (and even gain a few extra pounds), I add powdered dog gainers (see MVP K9 Supplements Formula Weight Gainer for Dogs at…

Perfect ingredients for my dog.

Over the years I have fed my 10 year old Border Collie a variety of good quality dog foods. Now, some of my favorite grain-free foods have been linked to canine heart disease, so I took another look at Purina foods. I read somewhere that Purina did more testing than most brands. I chose the Purina Pro Plan Sport 27/17 (Percent Protein/Fat) formula, which contains no corn, wheat, or soy. It has some barley and oats in it. My dog loves food; no fishy smell I hate; their feces are good and hard…
