I bought this router (Pepwave Surf Soho mk3) for use in my RV because I could use my Verizon Jetpack as a USB internet source on the back of the router. I needed a separate router (as a mifi) to connect my Synology NAS that stores video, audio and file recordings, and mifi didn't have an ethernet port. This worked well for small things, but even with the NAS connected to the router via Ethernet, there was enough extra latency that the downstream video streaming to the Wi-Fi device suffered from buffering even on a good 4G connection. I still use this setup because when I hit my gigabyte limit each month, Verizon reduces the bandwidth on my "unlimited" plan to 600kb not only for things coming over the 4G connection but also for "client" -Traffic local network (NAS to tablets, printers, STB). , laptop, etc.). If I need faster speeds between these devices I should move Mifi to the WAN side of the firewall and use SOHO as a router on the LAN. That's fine for this setup, but not very fast for video streaming on my local network.
