Review on Norpro 649 Stainless 12 Quart Roaster by Victor Garro

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's a beast

Over the years we've had a few less expensive roasting pans, mostly thin steel, that you could get at Walmart or the grocery store. They almost always rusted through after a short time. Since we needed something more substantial and didn't want to buy another pan, we bought this one. Now to describe it as hard work would mean describing the Matterhorn as a big hill. The thing is heavy and thick. It doesn't quite weigh as much as our cast-iron brazier, but few cooking utensils can handle it. However, this is not an easy thing either. It doesn't bend or tear. It also holds the heat in the oven well and the grate on the bottom keeps roast chicken and turkey grease-free well. We've also used the lid on the stove to make sauces and gravies and it works like a charm. So I can safely say that this was my last frying pan purchase. I absolutely recommend it.
