Review on 🚚 HAPPIJAC Standard Truck Camper Tie Down Set with Turnbuckle Replacement by Scot Hughes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

CAN be used on frame mounted clutches such as torque superchargers.

I have frame mounted cable ties made by a welder for less than half the price, but I wanted a different type of turnbuckle system than the weird old spring cans that came with my used RV. I bought a 4 piece set here at Revain and they work great if you install them properly. In fact, there are only 2 spring-loaded and 2 damped. Spring loaded MUST go forward. Dampening kit comes at the back. DO NOT flip this over or you will either rip out your RV's anchor point or break the turnbuckle by pushing the muted ones forward. For the front ones, these are those with a short barrel. You will need about 12-16 inches of chain and a chain link adapter. It will probably cost $12 total. I will add photos. What you need to understand is the dynamics of what happens to a camper. The forward movement develops a resistance that causes a slight up and down movement at the front of the alcove and a rearward pivot point. That's why you need springs at the front. They are designed for the front of the Happyjack, mounted on the lower level of the body, not the bottom. Frame type, but this kit is a lot cheaper than the Torque Truck brand and well worth the hassle. I've been riding hills, gravel and freeways for the past week and they've worked great. Remember to first unscrew the individual locknuts that are included in the small packaging before screwing on the cylinder. After marking the stem, start tightening the cylinder and measure the 1/4 mark. Tighten the jam nut and your kit. Rear shock absorber. They could emphasize the anchor point of the RV. just enough to stay in place with a little extra 1/2 turn.
