I would rate 5 if it was a rubber case. My knife is 304 stainless steel (better quality saltwater stainless steel than 440c, but it's "soft" so not suitable for everyday use). It is very durable, there is a small gray latch on the sheath (you can see it in the photo), which literally fixes the knife in the sheath when you press the tip. I bought a knife for use in a life jacket (open sea swimming) and am not afraid of losing this knife or that it might rust. This knife is non-magnetic (austenitic stainless steel).
