They honestly thought they were half decent. I had a friend who is a chef and also works part time at Sur la table. He said you'd better buy the Amazon brand or even a set of unnamed knives. The edges are clearly not correct and the blade will not last more than a month if you use it to cut meat and vegetables. There are also knives that no one needs in the kitchen. Eventually they made a fake design to make it look like damascus steel. That's a very, very bad sign! Do not buy this set. Use 100 and buy 1-3 decent ones
