There is no denying that compared to the top two competing brands these cables are light, thin and flexible. But in my experience they work just as well (sic) and last just as long. They are less affordable to repair by the owner. So if you're concerned about the environment, would rather throw away than renovate, and pay six times as much for premium tool cords, this is a solution I welcome. While some "branded" cables are up 50% in price over the last year, these cables cost a penny more. One discrepancy I noticed is that the Hosa 10ft cable is currently cheaper than the Revain 5ft cable. If you prefer to play alongside your instrument with a personal amp, a 5-foot cable will suffice. When you play with musicians who insist on plugging all of their instruments into a common speaker system (I'm hurt that I'm losing control of my piano, but who am I to argue if someone else got the gig and me paid to play?), then it would be better to use a 15-20 foot cable than a 10 foot cable. In any case, never go to work - not to a job or even to a rehearsal - without an additional patch cord. In my experience, even the most expensive cables are shorted. After all, it's easy not to take seriously manufacturers' recommendations to only use "balanced cables" (with two rings in one pin). It's best to take these recommendations seriously until you prove them wrong. Some Kurzweils I've had are not suitable for unbalanced (mono or single ring) cables.
