or not and cheaper

Hit or miss with these things. When they work, they work great. If they don't, they tend to cut a lot. Okay I don't know what Hosa did with these cables but they are insanely cheap compared to the ones I ordered last year. Cables are much thinner, plastic seems cheaper.

Just buy more. Won't be long. NEVER buy Jose!

After a year or two I started noticing annoying static noise from my studio monitor connected through this cable. I was able to pinpoint the source of the problem and it was the cable. While still under warranty I contacted Hosa and a representative named Mark Lopez asked me to send it in for repair. You have to pay for S&H! This is a cheap cable, you can just buy a new one and pay shipping! Then what is the point of returning to repair? So I bought another brand, more expensive and no problemโ€ฆ

The cables are not the highest quality I have.

I bought these as a shortened version of the excellent 50ft TRS cables I bought off Amazon a few years ago. Unfortunately, they seem quite fragile and the sound quality seems less reliable. I'm really confused because I usually buy most of my adapters through Hosa and they are great quality, but they don't seem to fit most of their adapters. Most TRS cables are thick enough to stay straight once wrapped, but they retain noticeable creases at the folds (and can be folded at the start!). I'llโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Weak set

I bought this cable with the Hosa footswitch I ordered. I really wish I could give this a higher rating. The cable itself is approximately 1/8 inch (3.5mm) wide. It works, but I wouldn't trust it for long if you're playing with it or mistreating your hardware. I wanted to make my own cable but bought this for convenience. I'm sorry for what I did. I will make my own more durable cable and use this as a replacement. If you're just a "basement player" then this will probably suffice.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Neutral

High quality, great for connecting pedals to things!

Great little cable! Here's my review: 1.) Quality: I wasn't expecting much for $5, but it exceeded my expectations. Everything reliable, cable lugs do not hang out. Five stars here! 2.) Feel: It feels like a quality product, the buttons on the handle make it easy to put on and take off the jacks. Five stars here! 3.) In action: does what it should. I bought this cable because it is short. I use it to connect effects pedals to my amp. For this purpose it works great. Five feet isn't really longโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High test scores for hold and durability
Cons
  • Available in white only

Best low quality audio cable

Received a pair of JBL 305P MKII's yesterday (great monitors on sale now btw) and hooked them up to my Yamaha mixer about 2 hours ago. To my surprise, the volume of the left speaker rose and fell on its own from time to time. I tried it one at a time, switched line outputs, etc., and finally swapped cables. Long story short, this Hosa TRS jack is slightly smaller than the JBL jack, which is quite closely mated to another (proprietary) cable. This hosa was MOVE when the speaker rumbled. Luckilyโ€ฆ

Still good value for audio and video accessories

There is no denying that compared to the top two competing brands these cables are light, thin and flexible. But in my experience they work just as well (sic) and last just as long. They are less affordable to repair by the owner. So if you're concerned about the environment, would rather throw away than renovate, and pay six times as much for premium tool cords, this is a solution I welcome. While some "branded" cables are up 50% in price over the last year, these cables cost a penny more. One
