Review on Yokohama Parada Spec-X 255/45 R20 105V summer by Micha Spodymek ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A little bit not what I expected, generally fine.

Those reviews convinced me to buy this tire. But I guess I said too soon:( For me, finding tires that are resistant to rutting and aquaplaning was a top priority. Even though I had it sized at 275x40x20, the tire tested at a kolleyness of 5+. Great road holding ability. I took a nighttime trip across Hong Kong, during which it poured steadily for the latter portion of the journey. When going beyond 80 mph, hydroplaning becomes very noticeable. The evaluations on this site claim that it successfully counteracts this impact, however in my experience, this is not the case. I didn't care about noise levels (as a deciding factor). It was assumed that after installing winter studded tires, the Mercedes ML350 would be as silent as a church mouse. but alas, the tire is really noisy. Much more obnoxious than my spiky Gislaved! Additionally, the roll-out has gotten worse, leading to higher gas consumption, although this is because the tread is so wide. I conclude that I will most likely switch to a different brand of tires with the same diameter (20 inches), a higher tread height (45 inches), a narrower tread width (265 inches to 255 inches), and more accurate aquaplane warning indicators. If you value collation above all else, by all means, go for it; you won't be disappointed. In this respect, she excels.

Pros
  • Break out of your rut
Cons
  • Hydroplaning is loud and forceful.
