Review on πŸ’§ PureFlow: Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System by Justin Sherman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good price. Slow filling but works well. Modified installation so as not to disturb.

The price is right and it's a much simpler system than the outrageously expensive AquaTru system we also have. I installed this system by purchasing additional blue PE hoses and quick disconnects (see photo) as we have a nice spray faucet that we like and would like to use. Connecting the system under the sink saves space and we simply route the hose next to the dishwasher so most of it is out of the way. This is a convenient installation, it saves space in the sink area and allows us to use our faucet spray head normally. I also use a short length of 1/4" blue plastic tubing for the drain line to the sink. This tubing works great with both the inlet and drain fittings on express water quick disconnects. As advertised, this system is slow, but to be honest it's not very different from the AquaTru system, which has its own pumps and fill tanks. Express water takes about 16 minutes to produce a gallon, and in that same time it loses 2 gallons of water down the drain. The AquaTru- System is very economical with water waste (but you have to fill it manually which can be a hassle) Why do we have two reverse osmosis water treatment systems Because after 8 months our AquaTru reverse osmosis filtration system broke and after we spent 6 weeks on the phone about it had to contact technical support and eventually go through the troubleshooting procedures (including the need to it to get a new tank), we finally said we can send our unit back to them for an exchange. So we decided to buy this express water supply system, hoping we would have better luck. So far, so good. Although we've already put $650 into the AquaTru system (now with additional tanks), I don't know if we'll have the patience for another 6-7 week phone tag marathon with their mechanics. At least the new Express Water system is much easier to use (no pumps) and seems to produce water at about the same rate.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Big and Bulky
