Review on πŸ‘Ÿ Hawkwell Hiking Shoes for Boys in Little Fuchsia by Adam Matthews

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Seams unraveled in 3 days - not waterproof at all either

Bought these for my 7 year old to wear while camping. The shoes fit well and she told me they were comfortable. No blisters during the week she's been using them. We spent the day walking around town in them trying them on before heading out. Unfortunately, they completely lack power. On the third day, one of the boots suddenly came loose at the seams. Only one of the threads started to unravel and before we knew it part of the shoe fell apart. I always carry duct tape with me for emergencies, so I used it to hold my shoes together until we got back to the car. It didn't snag on foot or boots at all, and we walked on kid-friendly, well-paved trails, nothing technical and relatively soft, flat trails, so it's not clear why the shoes would just lose their stitching. Very disappointing that the shoes were used for a week. We saved the hike by going to the local shop and getting her some cheap running shoes later in the day. Well this is a budget shoe so I didn't expect it to last a lifetime but it's annoying when it's short lived. a week with normal use. Also in the description it is implied that the boot is waterproof. You will be very disappointed that the shoes are not waterproof at all and if you read the description carefully you will see that the faux leather they use for the shoes is waterproof and not all shoes in general. A little deceived. So be aware that the rest of the shoe isn't waterproof and your child's feet will get wet walking on dewy grass like I did.
