I've been using this board for a few weeks now with pleasure

I've been using this board for a few weeks now and I have a lot to say RUBBER GRIP: This is top notch. They're tall enough not to be bothered by a smooth countertop, but low enough that you don't have to deal with a raised cutting board. They hold the cutting board in place without putting a wet towel underneath and I'd say it's worth paying for. BRETT: The board itself is beautiful. When my knife hits him, he glides past effortlessly. I can cut vegetables very quickly. SIZE: Enough to cut, for example, a large onion, 2 medium-sized potatoes, 5 carrots or a few sticks of celery. Your mileage may vary. However, I wouldn't use this board to cook very large meals unless I'm using it to chop herbs or side dishes that don't stack up too large. Hemorrhoids. If I'm just cooking for myself and a friend, that's fine as long as I have bowls to dump out the chopped veggies. COST: For what it is, this is a rock solid board and the cost is reasonable for what it is. If you can buy it for about $10 (give or take a few bucks), go for it. SHARPENER: It's one of those things that you could call a gimmick. I have good chef's knives that I send to a knife specialist every few months (I cook a lot). This sharpener is actually not a sharpener. It serves to /sharpen/ your knife. That is, instead of reviving the edge, it becomes straighter. I've used it and it does a great job of sharpening IF you move the blade very, VERY gently along the V shape. If you click, your blades will soon be destroyed. To be honest, I'd rather use an actual sharpener (that long stick in a knife set you never use). Also, the little honing tool is always hanging around when you wash the board. It's not a viable board addition to be worth it, but it's certainly annoying enough if you store it upright (to keep it dripping) because it falls out. This is the reason for the docked star.
