Review on πŸ”Š AudioControl The Epicenter Bass Booster Expander & Bass Restoration Processor with Remote (Black): Elevate Your Audio Experience by Bill Schlag

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Very situational. best in amps

This thing is situational at best. If you mostly listen to older music (e.g. mid 90's and earlier) this may help. But even then I didn't like the way he went about inserting the bass into the music. If you're playing something like AC DC with heavy bass guitars, all you have to do is add the "BLUHHHHHB BLUHHHB" semitone. Maybe someone likes it, but I don't. If it were something with a steady but insufficient "hit" it would really contribute to a healthy low range. I bought it to add a subwoofer to the LC2i (that disappointed me too, the Epicenter tamed the lc2i a bit) but I've also tried it in a fully tuned audio system with the same results. I ended up removing it entirely since it's just extra electronics and a dial that I don't need to overload. Now I'm glad the LOC has a direct midrange. I will play with this and lc2 in my home theater as it could improve our rock band 4 nights as there are paste problems. This effect can really help. Not to mention that a home theater system is different from a car stereo system. Edit/Update: Same results in home theater setup. It's on my NOT recommended list.

Pros
  • Fixed subsonic filter (33Hz, octave 12/dB)
Cons
