Review on Honeywell HHM10 Humidity Monitor White by Paul Weakland

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Extremely inaccurate

We live in the high desert of the Southwest and use three humidifiers in separate rooms during the winter when the heater dries the air more than usual. I already have three moisture meters: two Acurite 613s bought two years ago ($9 each) and one Extec 445815 bought three years ago (now $40). I bought this Honeywell to test two other brands. Two Akyurit read very close together - mostly the same or differ by one percent. Extec always shows a few percent more. I tend to trust Acurite more because they are compatible with each other, but I needed a different opinion, so I bought Honeywell. The new Honeywell monitor displays five to six percent fewer readings than the Acurites and nine to eleven percent fewer than the Honeywell monitor. Extec, so I have to conclude that Honeywell is extremely inaccurate and reading too low. The fact that the Acurites sits between the extremes of the other two monitors reinforces my belief that the Acurites - the cheapest of the three - is the most accurate.

Pros
  • Highest support and durability ratings from testers
Cons
  • Hard to tell
