Review on 🔊 CERWIN VEGA XED693 Coaxial Speaker Set: Powerful 6 x 9 Inches 3-Way Design - 350 Watts Max by Dave Moody

Update: Installed a Kenwood 200W Bluetooth stereo system and now these speakers sound even better. Also replaced the worn Polk 4x6 wheels in the front with Cerwin Vega. Very happy with the facility. I added Boom Mat baffles behind these 6x9 for even better bass and what a difference! Produces a very balanced and powerful sound system. Great speakers! Low price! Well defined sound and more bass than I expected from my old 35 watt per channel Alpine deck. More than loud enough. Perfect fit for my third generation Firebird. The screw holes lined up and the fit was fine, although the magnets and basket are much larger than my old knocked out Pioneer speakers. I also ordered Cerwin Vega 4x6 speakers for a dash, HED series, the fronts have not been swapped yet. Thanks to this new 6x9, however, the sound quality is much better. The difference between day and night. Very clean and clear highs, bright highs, full mids and deep bass, detailed sound. Well packaged, speakers arrived on time and in excellent condition. At less than $50, it's a steal. I am very happy with them. I might add a powered subwoofer to boost the bass because I love excessive bass. This isn't necessary though as these speakers are very well balanced and have just enough bass to make my rear fenders vibrate when I turn up the volume a bit. (The Boom Mat baffles solved that problem.) They don't draw much power, so they can be used without an amp. That being said, they'll probably sound even better with an amp or a more powerful head unit than what I currently have. Highly recommended. I'm sure there are probably more expensive speakers out there with slightly better sound quality and performance, but I gave 5 stars because the sound quality is very good, beyond what you would expect for the price, and the price is one of the lowest is. . I didn't use grilles because my standard sail panel covers the speaker with its own grille. But the grill is nice. Comes with cables and mounting hardware which I don't need, the old plugs matched the new speaker terminals (I ended up using new cables to be on the safe side). It's also good to know that these 6x9 speakers get great reviews and have made multiple lists of the top ten speakers to buy, as opposed to brands that cost a lot more. Very impressive!
