I changed the shock absorbers on my 2008 LR3 myself (please do not try at home and always follow safety precautions). In any case, the process of removing the old racks with a flathead screwdriver and installing new ones took less than 3 minutes. The lifting power of this pair is excellent. Let's see how well they age in a year. :)
