I bought this vacuum cleaner through Revain 9/2015; I deliberately waited a while to review the product. I have had an Oreck upright and smaller handheld vacuum since 1991. I never thought I would try anything else because I was so happy with Oreck. My satisfaction with their products has not changed however all local Oreck dealers are owned by the same person. When I needed a canister vacuum repair in the fall of 2015, this man and his staff were rude and unhelpful. I've wanted to try a backpack vacuum for a long time, so my negative experience with a local face, Oreck, made me buy one for home use. My husband calls it a ghostbuster vacuum cleaner. Red is a great color that's fun, but certainly has nothing to do with functionality. It takes a while to get used to being there and bumping into things. Backpack vacuums appear to be designed and marketed for commercial use and for people who will be vacuuming constantly for a long period of time. I'm always either cleaning isolated areas or going through large rooms methodically, which means turning the vacuum on and off, raising and lowering it many times. A backpack vacuum cleaner is bulky for this. It's an average weight overall, but still quite heavy for a 5ft 2in female weighing 130lbs. It's fine if you mainly stand and walk, but not good for bending over, pacing, and reaching under things. The way to take it off and put it on is to put it on a chair and sit in front of it and load/unload it. It's heavy and uncomfortable to pick up and put on and take off like a regular backpack. He needs padding against the back; The rubber between you and the canister doesn't add to the comfort. The straps are adjustable, which helps. The belt is attached with Velcro. I tighten it around the middle, but the end hangs down, or the strap comes loose if it's for a tall person; My trick is to close it with velcro and then secure the punching end with a large tie clip. You need to be careful with the strap because the Velcro will attach and hook onto many things if not carefully protected. It has loops for carrying attachments etc but you can't put many in the loops until it gets too tight/full and they tend to fall out as you move. The suction power is very strong, even when using an extension cord. The brush should have longer and thicker bristles; Ground, pet and cleavage tools are good. The extended cable is great. The nozzle grip is great. The canister tips over too easily for you to use it to put on. It would be nice if it came with small casters so it can be placed either on the floor or on the back. The bag is easy to change. 11/30/2016 I noticed that the hose was torn almost around the entire circumference right next to the nozzle attachment point; I'll fix it with duct tape, but it shouldn't happen anytime soon if used normally by a person. 10/25/19 addition - still use vacuum and back up everything I said 4 years ago right after purchase; The tape I put on the hose on 11/30/16 worked fine, but the hose continued to diverge up where the handle attaches; now almost completely breaks at 3 so I have to cut and splice, add more tape reinforcement or buy a new tube; There is definitely a design issue when the hose and handle are connected in the app on 2/27/20 - prior to using the vacuum and on standby, all I said 4 1/2 years ago right after purchase, However, the problem described in my app from 10/2019 worsened; Regardless of how much tape/cutting has been done, the hose will continue to break at the top where it connects to the main unit where heavy use is inevitable; Husband contacted company and got replacement hose but they charge $40 for it; he replaced the hose 1/2020 and I'm back in business (but for how long?); Despite this design flaw and the fact that it could be carried softer and the belt tensioned easier, I still say this is a good vacuum; I walk around the house with a long cord and several attachments, work on my knees, stand, bend and step on stairs; Main unit works great
