I received it as a gift. And I need a set of BS939 Class B squares. That's why I had them on my wish list. I have uploaded what the BS939 accuracy tolerance standards are. Including grades AA, A and B. It only takes two of these squares from edge to edge to check the flatness of the work surface and determine that these squares are nowhere near BS939 (workshop) grade B tolerances. You can see the light and a slight bend at the edges. And just on that one level of tolerance - you can see it should be around 4 microns for the working surfaces on the smaller squares and 6 microns on the 150mm squares. The size of an erythrocyte is 5 microns. And I won't even go into their cross-perpendicularity. it's even worse. Off to everyone. Parallel blade edges? Ha! They are slightly curved. You can see how the sharpening begins and ends with a small indentation in the center of each blade towards both the inside and outside edges. For the price of this set, not to mention the fact of the claim, they should be on-brand. Absolutely accurate and within the declared tolerances of BS939-B. My speed squared from HF is as accurate and by the way more accurate 0.1 or 0.01mm at 100-150mm is not accurate. It doesn't even come close to BS939-B. I need them to check the accuracy on a table saw with an accuracy of 0.005 mm. Why would I buy, let alone use, a contra-angle that is no more than 0.1 or 0.01mm accurate and expect 0.005mm accuracy from a machine that can give me that accuracy? I would not. i would be stupid Enough complained. I am extremely disappointed in these supposed machinist/engineer squares. What a disappointment. The wooden case is fine, the interior foam is crappy and carved like squares only enlarged. It's not like foam is a deal breaker, but again, more could be expected. i can fix it The squares themselves were well packaged in oil-soaked plastic. I expected that and I liked it. Conclusion: If you are looking for a set of BS939 Grade B Machinist/Engineer squares, do not buy these squares. All 4 of mine don't even come close and from what I've read in some of these reviews no one else does. And once you've ordered them, request a refund as I aim to do so as soon as possible. It's a waste of money for what it is, you can get the same or better for a lot cheaper. Find a quality set that meets specification that actually meets tolerances. Otherwise, why bother with machinists/engineers if you don't need precision?
