I figured my cats who would tolerate the new litter box spray was not a likely consequence. I was wrong the first day or so. The cats didn't even seem to notice that anything had changed. I also noticed that I didn't smell anything from the litter boxes. Let it be known that I don't always have a problem with overly strong litter smells as I try to make sure the kids are extra tough on the task. Maybe I just kept my nose on the alert for the sake of observation. So, in the morning after we start using it. There was definitely a small problem next to the boxes. The cats somehow seemed to discover that something had changed after all, and scattered the bedding as if searching and digging for something underneath, in complete disarray. The crates also had distinct residue stains or an almost oily sheen. We have now stopped using it. I have cats with completely opposite personalities, so it's entirely possible that they accidentally wreak havoc. I didn't want to try again because when they make a mess, nobody or the cat enjoys it. I didn't smell any strong fragrance from this spray that would mask the odors out of the box so it may have neutralized the odors rather than masking them. However the oily film wasn't pleasant and I thought it might cause clumping so I washed the boxes and maybe try again at the end of the summer holidays and next time I change something there won't be a mess around the cats .
